Mel Torme and Judy Garland: The Christmas Song
Mel Torme and Judy Garland sing a wonderful rendition of "The Christmas Song". Amazingly, Mel wrote this classic carol at the age of 19.
Mel and Judy performed this duet on the Judy Garland Show in December, 1963. It's available for purchase or rent on several different DVD sets.
Deck the Halls
Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Ding Dong Merrily on High
Ding dong merrily on high,
In heav'n the bells are ringing:
Ding dong! verily the sky
Is riv'n with angel singing.
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!
Christians awake salute the happy morn!
Christians, awake, salute the happy morn
Whereon the Saviour of the world was born
Rise to adore the mystery of love
Which hosts of angels chanted from above
With them the joyful tidings first begun
Of God incarnate and the Virgin's Son
